Today, Palazzo Grassi is a museum and is home to a collection of contemporary art. The museum hosts a number of temporary exhibitions throughout the year, featuring works by artists from around the world. In addition to its art collection, Palazzo Grassi is also home to a number of other cultural institutions, including a library and a music conservatory.

From May 2013, the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi reinforces this extensive artistic and cultural programming. Conceived by Tadao Ando, this 225-seat auditorium offers an intense calendar of events - lectures, concerts, screenings - and emphasizes the desire to establish a dialogue with Venetian and international audiences.
