The sharp triangle that divides the Grand Canal from the Giudecca Canal is home to three of the city's splendid art venues: the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, the Patriarchal Seminary and the 17th-century building of the Dogana Da Mar, now home to Fondazione Pinault's center dedicated to contemporary art.
Together with Palazzo Grassi and its Teatrino, Punta della Dogana is set in the precious crown of the French foundation's exhibition projects, benefiting from restoration work by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, already responsible for the renovation of other Venetian buildings entrusted to the foundation.
The characteristic exposed concrete walls, Ando's unmistakable trademark, host every year important exhibitions (among the latest, we mention the one dedicated to Damien Hirst) and special events aimed at various audiences ranging from performance art reviews, to concerts, to art aperitifs served in the exclusive belvedere terrace of the Torrino overlooking the Bacino di San Marco.
From here we ensure wonderful visions for an unprecedented memory of Venice with a sure emotional impact.
