Ginza Six: Luxury and Modernity 🏙️

Ginza Six, situated on the site of the gigantic Matsuzakaya, is currently the largest shopping center in Ginza, a Tokyo district known for its luxury boutiques and modern architecture buildings. This ideal location houses the new cosmopolitan commercial complex, Ginza Six.

XXL Shopping 🛒

Ginza Six hosts 241 Japanese and international brands, clothing, accessories, art boutiques, and restaurants. The 6th and 13th floors are dedicated to numerous cafés and restaurants, while the second basement floor belongs entirely to depachika (gourmet food hall). On the green terrace, you can enjoy a Bento (food assortment in a plastic tray) in a pleasant environment, with a breathtaking view of the Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Sky Tree.

Services and Public Spaces 🌐

In addition to typical large shopping center services, Ginza Six also offers city tours and tourist information. The high-level kombini store offers a selection of local products and gifts with the Ginza label. Ginza Six is not just a commercial complex, but also provides interconnected commercial and common spaces, public spaces for cultural events, and an evacuation area in case of danger.

Living Arts 🎨

Fumio Nanjo, director of the Ginza Six complex and the Mori Museum, explains that the challenge for the center was "to maximize the synergy between modern art and commercial spaces." Currently, Japan's most internationally renowned artists, including Yayoi Kusama, exhibit at the National Center for the Arts in Tokyo. Subsequently, articles on Kusama's "My Eternal Soul" exhibition and also a special collection of silver accessories and various items featuring one of their most famous designs, the "Narcissus Garden", will be available for sale in Ginza Six's pop-up stores.

Theatrical Entrance 🎭

In the third basement of Ginza Six, there is a space made of cypress wood: welcome to the Noh Theatre! The stage was transferred from Shibuya, where the Kanze school was located. Kiyokazu Kanze, the 26th head of the Kanze school, is the most important figure in modern Noh theater.

Interior and Exterior 🌿

The Ginza Six skyscraper was built on the site of the ancient Matsuzakaya building and reflects the perfect balance between old and new. The interaction between interior and exterior is based on the collaboration between Japanese architect Yoshio Taniguchi and French designer Nicolas Gwanaël. Taniguchi's goal is "to highlight the beauty of the interior from the outside." Originally there were two buildings; Taniguchi united them with the help of a metallic structure, the traditional Japanese Noren door curtain.

Ginza Six is a place with an international touch, but at the same time reflects the ancient soul and Japanese charm.
