Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walking Space
The Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walking Space opened on 12 March 2011.
It enables people to walk safely and comfortably throughout the four seasons in the city centre of Sapporo, which is covered with snow half the year, and to enjoy a more casual tour of the entire city centre by connecting the Sapporo Station area with the Odori and Susukino areas via the underground.
Plaza (intersection plaza, recreational space)
The Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Pedestrian Space is not just a place to pass through, but also a plaza space that can be used by the public to enjoy the various attractions and pleasures of the city centre.
The plaza can be used not only for events such as performances and music, art exhibitions and information dissemination, but also for commercial promotions such as sales promotions and product PR.
Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walking Space attracts a great deal of attention not only from Sapporo but also from Hokkaido and the rest of Japan. Why not make use of the underground plaza in this space, which is the gateway to Sapporo, the capital of Hokkaido, and the face of the city centre?
Intersection Square

This is a larger space than the recreation area and can therefore be used for relatively large-scale events. It can also be used in combination with the large screens installed on the walls, making it more visually effective.
