Ca' d'Oro is a palace located in the Cannaregio district of Venice, Italy. It was built in the 15th century by the Contarini family, a wealthy and influential family in Venice. The palace is known for its Gothic architecture and is considered one of the most beautiful palaces in Venice.

Ca' d'Oro is now a museum and is home to a collection of art and artifacts from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The museum features a number of frescoes by Tiepolo and other artists, as well as a collection of paintings, sculptures, and other artworks.

The palace is named after the golden ornamentation that once adorned its façade, and it is known for its ornate decorations and grand entrance. Inside, visitors can admire the opulent interiors, which feature marble staircases and a number of beautiful frescoes.

Ca' d'Oro is a popular tourist attraction in Venice and is a must-visit for art and history lovers visiting the city. It is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket office.

The Ca' d'Oro, one of the most prestigious late Gothic palaces in Venice, houses on two floors the important art collection of Baron Giorgio Franchetti (1865-1927), who donated his collections and the building itself to the Italian state in 1916, after restoring its original splendor with extensive restoration.

The nobleman's collection, comprising furniture, paintings, medals, tapestries, bronzes and sculptures, was expanded over the years-and ever since the Gallery's inauguration in 1927-with the annexation of Renaissance works from suppressed or demolished religious buildings and nuclei of collections from other state museums in Venice, while a new exhibition section devoted to Venetian ceramics has found space, since 1992, in the adjacent Palazzo Duodo.

A visit to the palace, which was opened to the public in 1927, does not end at the Gallery alone, which still preserves, in its entirety, the structure of the ancient Venetian casa fondaco. Of particular interest is the inner courtyard, with its striking floor mosaic in ancient marble, created by the baron himself to evoke early Christian basilicas, and the original well-carved vera da pozzo by Bartolomeo Bon in 1427.
